As the end of the school year approaches, we have one last dedicated, hard-working orchestra member to celebrate. Please join us in congratulating sophomore Symphony Orchestra violinist Jennifer Liu as this year’s final Student Of The Month (SOTM)!

Before joining orchestra, Jennifer’s parents noticed her passion for music, especially in the vocal field, and decided to enroll her in a piano class. Her natural talent for piano allowed her to improve extremely quickly, and she now shares this love of music with the people around her, and has even ascended up to Certificate of Merit (CM) Level 10 for her brilliant musicianship!
Jennifer first joined orchestra in 3rd grade, and when deciding on which instrument to play, she chose the violin because “it stuck out to me the most”. She officially began playing seriously in 4th grade, a decision that has led to years and years of meticulous effort and diligence, landing her a spot in Arcadia High School’s (AHS) top orchestra.
“Music has taught me to express emotions in a way that words can’t, and it’s a way to express how we feel,” she says. “Playing music allows me to interpret the way I feel toward the piece.”
However, her hobbies don’t just stop at orchestra. Outside of the music room, Jennifer also enjoys reading books, watching TV shows, and catching up with her friends, especially during her favorite orchestra event: Disneyland Trips!
Jennifer’s interest and enthusiasm in music continue to shine through every day, no matter if it’s simply a regular rehearsal in the orchestra room, or a concert, where she can show off her talents. Her constant support and dedication to both her friends and the orchestra program are evident in her positive attitude and distinct personality. Once again, let’s congratulate Jennifer for being the last SOTM for the 2025-2026 school year.
