Amidst the cold winter night of Jan. 16, the orchestra room bustled with warmth and joy as musicians across all different grade levels settled in for an exciting evening filled with laughter and new memories. The annual Movie Night Social allowed everyone to take a break from school and relax as they enjoyed Kung-Fu Panda, ate delicious Chinese food, and bonded with friends across all the orchestras.

The orchestra room was decorated vividly with hand-crafted Chinese lanterns (that actually glowed!), sparkling gold garlands, and a giant popcorn bucket arch that stood proudly in the center. As they walked in, students were also greeted with the irresistible smell of homemade fried rice, chow mein, dumplings, mac and cheese, various snacks and drinks, and of course, popcorn. After getting comfortable with blankets and friends, the movie began.
“This movie social was very fun, and the Orchestra Council set up the room really well to match the vibes, and the food is amazing,” said sophomore violist Olivia Hui. “After this, I’m looking forward to playing great music with my section and being able to bond with my fellow orchestra members!”
The 2026 Movie Social was a huge success, giving everyone that attended the opportunity to meet new people, bond with friends, and enjoy a fun-filled evening together. If you enjoyed this social, be sure to grab a few friends and join us in our future upcoming events!
